The Nissan Leaf is an EV developed by Nissan and originally launched 2010 at the beginning of EV popularity in the United States before the big boom caused by Tesla in 2012. The Nissan Leaf was then redesigned in 2017 as a large departure from the previous styling. The Nissan Leaf has remained the number one selling compact EV in the world until late 2019. To answer this problem a campaign surrounding the idea of a clean driving experience was created. This campaign uses the tagline “Clean ride, Cleaner skies” in order to sell this idea of an attractive and refined vehicle that does not pollute and helps its owner decrease their carbon footprint. This tagline was visualized through a hero image of the vehicle driving through clouds almost as if it’s flying, emphasizing the refined quiet ride an EV provides while not tainting the environment it is moving through. This campaign is being carried out through social media advertisements, a billboard ad, and a commercial.
